Tourism Quiz Competition
Tourism Quiz Competition is a contest that tests knowledge and quick thinking in answering questions accurately and swiftly within the field of tourism. This year, the Tourism Quiz Competition carries the theme 'Tourism Global Destination', aiming to challenge students' understanding of various aspects of tourism, especially culture, culinary, and sustainable tourism practices.

General Provisions
Participants must be active students from Tourism Departments, from Diploma 1 (D1) to Bachelor’s (S1) level, and are required to attach a Student ID Card (KTM) or a Certificate of Active Student (SKM).
Participants are not allowed to include, wear, or display any form of institutional identity such as logos, flags, uniforms, university jackets, or institutional initials in their work or during the competition.
Each team must complete registration through the link provided on the official KPI website (kpi.polban.ac.id) no later than April 19, 2025.
Each university may send more than one representative team (maximum of 3 teams).
All team representatives are required to join the WhatsApp group.
Participants must attend the online technical meeting on April 25, 2025, through the platform provided by the committee.
Participants are encouraged to attend the opening and closing ceremonies in person at the main venue, Bandung State Polytechnic. If unable to attend physically, they may join online via the KPI 15 YouTube livestream.
Participants are only allowed to wear or display their institutional identity during the closing or awarding session.
Participants must arrive 60 minutes before the event starts.
Specific Rules
The competition is team-based, with each team consisting of 3 students from the same institution.
Teams that fail to attend the competition will be considered as forfeited or disqualified.
Participants must wear batik clothes (not campus batik) during the competition.
The competition includes 3 stages: preliminary, semifinal, and final.
Registration implies agreement to all competition rules.
Questions will cover all areas of tourism, both national and international, such as:
Travel
Culture
Hospitality
Tourism destinations & attractions
Tourism trends
Terminologies (International)
Landmarks (International)
With question levels divided into:
General tourism knowledge
Tourism issues
Specific knowledge of sustainable tourism
Participants are not allowed to refer to notes or books during the competition.
Personal issues causing answering delays will not be considered.
All decisions are final, binding, and cannot be appealed. No exceptions are allowed.
Registered participants are considered to have accepted all competition rules.
Teams with the highest scores will proceed to the next round.
Supporters must cheer in a polite manner, without using offensive words or actions.
Supporters must show sportsmanship and solidarity with other supporters.
Supporters are not allowed to help participants in any way.
Supporters must not insult or mock other teams.
Supporters must behave properly during the event and uphold sportsmanship.
Violating these rules may lead to supporter removal and team disqualification.
The competition will be held on the second day, May 7, 2025.
Participants must arrive at the venue at least 45 minutes before the competition starts.
Preliminary Round :
Competes for semifinal seats across 5 sub-rounds;
In rounds 1–4, the top 2 teams move to the semifinals; eliminated teams may compete in later rounds;
In the final preliminary round, 1 top-scoring team will advance;
Quiz is done using computers via an online platform in real-time (participants must bring their own laptop);
Each session consists of 40 questions;
Questions are answered within a set time using multiple-choice or true/false formats;
Scores are automatically generated by the system;
All participants will be monitored for fair play;

Semifinal Round:
This round determines the teams that will advance to the final;
It consists of 3 sessions, each with 3 teams. In each session, the team with the highest score will go to the final;
Participants may answer only after being allowed by the moderator;
Each team will take turns choosing questions displayed on the screen;
There are 5 categories of questions, each containing 10 questions to choose from;
The questions come in different types;
Each team will be given time to answer quickly;
The top 3 teams with the highest scores will move on to the next round;
The question formats used are true or false, short answer, spelling, and multiple choice;
Final Round:
In this round, teams will choose questions directly from the screen.
There are 2 sessions of questions. In session 1, there are 5 categories, each with 15 questions to choose from. In session 2, questions are selected based on a blank map shown on the screen.
Participants may only answer after being invited by the moderator.
Three finalist teams will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
This round includes point deductions based on the following rules:
If a team answers correctly, they will earn points according to the question’s value.
If a team answers incorrectly, points will be deducted according to the question’s value.
The question formats used are short answer, spelling, and true or false.
4. All decisions in this competition are final and cannot be challenged.
Violations
Registered participants cannot be replaced for any reason;
It is not allowed to disturb other participants during the competition;
Participants who show, wear, or use any form of identity from their institution (such as logos, flags, uniforms, jackets, or initials), disrupt the event, cheat, or endanger others will be disqualified;
Participants found cheating in any form will be disqualified (including using tools such as gadgets, earphones, or bringing notes);
Participants who are proven to cheat with help from supporters will also be disqualified;
If a participant is absent or late without informing the committee on the competition day, they will be considered as having withdrawn;
Awards
Winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place) in the offline competition will receive trophies and e-certificates. Trophy shipping costs are covered by the winners.
Complaints or Appeals
Participants who want to file a complaint or appeal a judge’s decision must complete the provided form with supporting evidence. An administrative fee applies. If the appeal is accepted, the fee will be refunded. If rejected, the fee is non-refundable and belongs to the committee.
