GENERAL COMPETITION
Tourism Ideathon
The Tourism Ideathon is a competition to gather ideas and innovations to solve problems in the tourism industry. This competition aims to design innovative strategies that not only improve the appeal of tourism destinations or businesses, but also bring real benefits to the environment, local economy, and surrounding communities.In KPI 15, Bobobox joins as a case study partner in this competition. Bobobox is an Indonesian accommodation startup that offers a unique resting experience based on six (6) pillars of sustainability. Participants are asked to create innovative strategies that not only boost the appeal of tourism destinations or businesses, but also give fresh ideas and insights for Bobobox.

General Guidelines
Participants must be active students (male or female) from national universities or colleges, ranging from diploma (D1) to undergraduate (S1) level. Participants are required to attach a Student ID Card (KTM) or a Student Status Letter (SKM).
Each university is allowed to send a maximum of three (3) representative teams.
Participants must register through the link provided on the official KPI website (kpi.polban.ac.id) no later than April 23, 2025.
Each team must join the official WhatsApp group.
Participants are required to attend an online technical meeting on May 5, 2025, through a platform provided by the committee.
During the competition, participants are not allowed to include, wear, or display any institutional identity such as logos, flags, uniforms, blazers, or initials in any form in their submission or appearance.
Institutional identity may only be shown during the closing ceremony or the winner announcement.
The judges' decisions are final and cannot be contested.
Participants are encouraged to attend the opening and closing ceremonies in person at the main venue of Bandung State Polytechnic. If participants are unable to attend in person, they may join online via the KPI 15 YouTube livestream.
Special Guidelines
The competition is a group category, with each group consisting of 3 (three) participants from the same institution.
Each group must have at least 1 (one) member from the Tourism Department and 2 (two) members from non-Tourism Departments.
The team leader is responsible for all matters related to their team’s participation in the competition.
Registered team members cannot be replaced for any reason.
All participants are required to wear batik (not a campus batik uniform) during the competition.
Participants must dress neatly (proper grooming is required).
The theme of the Tourism Ideathon competition is: “Sustainable Synergy: Empowering Local Communities Through Tourism Innovation”.

Participants must submit their proposal presentation file (ppt) in English and in PDF format through Google Classroom provided by the committee. Folder name format: Team Name (example: Saranta Team).
Submission deadline: May 3, 2025
Each submitted work must include the KPI 14 logo at the top left corner.
Participants are not allowed to include political, governmental, or ethnic-sensitive content.
It is strictly forbidden to write or attach any institutional identity in the competition work.
Participants must maintain politeness and good manners during their presentation.
Participant Supporter Guidelines
Participants are allowed to bring up to 5 supporters (1 supervising lecturer and 4 students), under the condition that all supporters must follow the rules below:
Supporters must cheer for their team in a polite and respectful manner, without using words that could cause conflict, fights, or disturb the concentration of the contestants. Violence of any kind is strictly prohibited.
Supporters must uphold sportsmanship and show solidarity with other supporters.
Supporters are not allowed to give any kind of answers or assistance to the competing participants.
Supporters are not allowed to show disrespectful behavior towards other groups (such as insulting, mocking, or criticizing them).
Supporters must behave properly throughout the competition by maintaining respectful conduct and upholding the spirit of fair play.
Any violation of these rules will result in the supporter being removed from the venue and the participating team being disqualified.
Competition Technical Guidelines
The competition will be held on May 7, 2025.
Participants must submit their presentation documents by May 3, 2025.
Participants must enter the presentation room no later than 30 minutes before the competition starts.
Presentations will follow the order determined by the committee.
Each team will have a maximum of 20 minutes: 10 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for the Q&A session.
The committee will give a signal 2 (two) minutes before time is up and will stop the presentation exactly at the 10-minute mark.
The presentation must be delivered in English.
The committee will act as the moderator and timekeeper during the presentation.
Participants must wear the designated attire.
The judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested.
Violations
Participants who plagiarize or copy someone else's work will be disqualified.
Registered participants cannot be replaced for any reason.
Participants who fail to submit their work on time without a valid reason will be disqualified.
It is strictly forbidden to disturb other participants during the competition.
Participants who include, use, or display any form of institutional identity such as logos, flags, uniforms, blazers, or institution initials; disrupt the competition; cheat; or endanger the safety of others will be disqualified. Disqualified participants will be considered eliminated and will not receive any refund.
Participants who are absent or arrive late on the competition day without notifying the committee will be considered as having withdrawn from the competition.
Awards
Winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place are entitled to receive a trophy, e-certificate, and other prizes. Shipping costs for the trophy will be the responsibility of the participant.
Objection / Complaint Submission
Participants who wish to file an objection or complaint regarding the judges’ decisions may fill out the provided form and include supporting evidence. An administrative fee will be charged for each submission. If the objection is proven valid and accepted by the judges, the fee will be refunded. However, if the objection is not accepted, the fee will be retained by the committee.
